WEEKLY UPDATE

---------------------------------------------------------

Dear All,

I hope that you had a Merry Christmas!  Today we have our final runners of 2023!

Today's Runners

---------------------------------------------------------

I would like to take the time to thank you all for supporting Team Dunn this year.  Each and every one of you is very much valued and appreciated.

---------------------------------------------------------

We have now had the shortest day of the year, and I am very much looking forward to the Spring and the New Year.  The staff have been great, arriving and leaving in darkness, but we will appreciate the days getting a little bit longer.

Christmas Eve

---------------------------------------------------------

I am very excited about 2024.  We have some lovely young horses for us to look forward to, many of whom are unexposed and some have not raced for us yet.

I wish you all a Happy New Year!

WEEKLY UPDATE

---------------------------------------------------------

Dear All,

The Team have coped really well with another week of winter.  It's very wet with us, but thanks to good team work we are coping well.

---------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------

For news in racing, the BHA mentioned limiting multiple runners by trainers to four per race.  Eddie O' Leary had the below comment:-

---------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------

I couldn't agree any more.  The majority of horses in training have a rating of 105 and below.  So why are there not 0-90 and 0-95 jump handicaps, which would attract large fields and produce competitive racing?

---------------------------------------------------------

To reward the staff for their hard work we have the staff party this weekend in Taunton.  Thank you to those who have given money and drinks.  They will have a lot of much deserved fun and are very much looking forward to it!  We have a lovely team here.

Best wishes

WEEKLY UPDATE

---------------------------------------------------------

Dear All,

Gosh, what a week!  We have all been wearing a variety of waterproofs and would look at home deep sea fishing!!!!  There has been a lot of wet weather!  The gallops are still able to be used and we are getting the horses exercised.  It's a real team effort at home!  Our schooling menage, is riding particularly well and we are using the time to school a lot of the younger horses.

It was lovely to have a good turnout for Racehorse Ownership at Chepstow earlier today.  Rock of Star found the ground too wet coming a credible 5th, but it was a lovely day out and plenty of fun was had.

Exeter racecourse used my brother John last week on its posters to sell tickets.  This week it's Thahab Ifraj.  I am glad that they think we are a good looking bunch!

WEEKLY UPDATE

Dear All,

Winter is here, the yard is being gritted.  Quite a contrast to watching Frankie Dettori in the jungle!

---------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------

Ellis Collier who is a good claimer, came in to school the horses on Thursday.  We schooled 8 young horses and it was good to get to know another conditional jockey.  Ellis claims 7lbs and rode well with us.

We have a lot of younger horses that will make their jumping debuts.  I am quietly getting very excited about them.
